Summer Wine Brewery Meet The Brewer

Cask Pub and Kitchen Pimlico is hosting the amazing Summer Wine Brewery for a tap takeover/meet the brewer this coming Saturday (May 5th).

Expect an exceptional cask and keg lineup with 10 cask beers and 10 kegs. Beers ranging from a Mild through to a massive barrel aged imperial stout and we’re helping them launch two new barrel aged beers.

Blenheim Ginger Ale

It’s not normal for us to get so excited about a ‘non beer’ but this is a pretty special drink (even by our standards.) Blenheim are the smallest and earliest soda manufacturers in the United States and have been refining the same recipe ginger ale for over 100 years.

They have something of a cult following in their home state of North Carolina while being sought after worldwide. They make three different recipes each with their own unique twang and pleasant burn of ginger.

They’re only with us for a short period of time so catch them while you can!

Fyne Ales ‘Meet The Brewer’ April 2nd

We are very much looking forward to our next ‘meet the brewer’ event with the amazing Fyne Ales brewery from Scotland on Monday the 2nd April. For those who are unfamiliar with our renowned ‘meet the brewer’ events it will kick off from 5pm with all beers available and continue all night until we close at 11:00pm. The brewery usually gives a talk regarding their experience brewing and then opens up to questions afterwards.

We hope you can join us for yet another amazing meet the brewer event.

In 2010, I have high hopes that the next pub to surge to the attention of London’s beer drinkers will be the Cask Pub and Kitchen in Pimlico a 7-8 minute walk south of Victoria. It has been advertising in London Drinker for a few months and I was impressed with the beer, the choice and the enthusiastic attitude of the bar staff when I visited for the first time just before Christmas. A slight smaller scale version of their sister pub – the Craft Beer Co in Clerkenwell. This place is in my top 5 UK pubs for great beer. A big selection of local UK beers along with loads of US and European beers on tap. Then we get to all the fridges stocked with exotic bottles from all over the world.

They do decent food too, so it’s well worth staying the whole night. Read more…

One of the nearest things you will get to an old fashioned pub atmosphere in central London, even if the furnishings are 21st century. This is a pub for talking and meting and eating good food. In particular it is a pub for tasting an enormous range of beers on tap or in the bottle. This is not one of the big chains but a genuine small family business, please support it, it’s well worth it.

Built into the structure of a 1970s council estate in Pimlico is a pub that is easily missed. Walking past, unless you were paying attention, you could fail to spot that the establishment is a public house at all, let alone one that you would go out of your way to visit. A Pimlico landlord raised a glass to toast his pub’s success after scooping a prestigious award.

The Cask Pub and Kitchen, in Charlwood Street, has just been named the best pub in west London by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

Owner Martin Hayes, who opened the pub just 20 months ago, said he was delighted by the recognition. Read more…
