The Cask Pub and Kitchen, in Charlwood Street, has just been named the best pub in west London by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

One of the nearest things you will get to an old fashioned pub atmosphere in central London, even if the furnishings are 21st century. This is a pub for talking and meting and eating good food. In particular it is a pub for tasting an enormous range of beers on tap or in the bottle. This is not one of the big chains but a genuine small family business, please support it, it’s well worth it.

A slight smaller scale version of their sister pub – the Craft Beer Co in Clerkenwell. This place is in my top 5 UK pubs for great beer. A big selection of local UK beers along with loads of US and European beers on tap. Then we get to all the fridges stocked with exotic bottles from all over the world.
They do decent food too, so it’s well worth staying the whole night. Read more…

In 2010, I have high hopes that the next pub to surge to the attention of London’s beer drinkers will be the Cask Pub and Kitchen in Pimlico a 7-8 minute walk south of Victoria. It has been advertising in London Drinker for a few months and I was impressed with the beer, the choice and the enthusiastic attitude of the bar staff when I visited for the first time just before Christmas.
